Your Infrared Sauna Is Waiting
If you were interested in using an infrared sauna, or perhaps installing one in your own home, then this is the article is for you. First,
we’ll talk about what the difference is between a traditional sauna and an infrared sauna. We’ll also question whether an infrared sauna is really safe, and then onto the myriad of benefits that an infrared sauna offers.
What is the difference between a traditional sauna and a infrared sauna?
First you need to differentiate between a steam room and a sauna. A lot of people think that they are the same thing, but of course a traditional sauna does not use steam, but dry heat, in order to induce sweating.
Now, the difference between a traditional sauna and an infrared sauna is the type of heat generated. An infrared sauna uses “far infrared” rays to radiate heat deep into the body, creating a comfortable and natural warmth. This is different to traditional saunas, which use dry heat to simply heat up the whole room, which in turn warms the body.
There are numerous benefits of using an infrared sauna as opposed to a traditional one, which will be discussed later in this article.
Is an infrared sauna really safe?
Infrared rays are the same thing that changes the channel on your TV when you press the remote button. They are harmless and invisible, and nothing like ultraviolet or x-ray. The only risks of an infrared sauna are the same as a regular sauna, like dehydration or overheating. In fact, even these dangers are practically non existent if safety guidelines are followed.
The benefits of using an infrared sauna.
Economically, an infrared sauna would be the better choice if you were going to install a sauna within your home. An infrared heater is many times cheaper to run than a traditional heater, saving on the electricity bill.
Both infrared and traditional saunas share numerous health benefits, like muscle relaxation and pain relief, detoxification, weight loss, and enhanced athletic ability.
An infrared sauna increases the effect of traditional saunas, plus additional advantages. To begin with, the heat from the infrared rays penetrate deeper into the body, as opposed to normal dry heat saunas which only penetrate the surface level. This in effect does a lot better job for muscle relaxation and pain relief.
Also, an infrared sauna heats the object (your body) rather than the entire room. This means that the effects will still be there with a lower all-round temperature, creating a more comfortable experience and allowing you more time in the sauna without overheating.
Finally, an infrared sauna tends to aid the body to produce more than double the amount of sweat than a traditional dry heat sauna. This aids the removal of harmful toxins from the body.
