A portable sauna is exactly what the name implies. A sauna, that you can take with you wherever you go. No kidding!

If you talk about a sauna, the first thing that comes to mind for most people is a large room with wooden cladding. To say that there is such a thing as a portable sauna seems impossible.

But it’s true, the portable sauna really does exist. You can obtain all the benefits of a full sized sauna, and you can set the whole thing up in minutes.

There are many documented health benefits to using the portable sauna regularly. Most use the sauna for the relaxation and skin cleansing properties. Additionally, it has been proven that use of the sauna can lessen chronic pain, reduce blood pressure, improve heart arrhythmia (keeping the heart-beat regular), prevent the common cold,  and even burn calories. It’s probably the best form of exercise you can get while simply sitting still.

However, for a variety of reasons, it’s not always practical to visit the sauna as frequently as some would like. It may become expensive, or it just takes to much time and trouble to keep traveling to the local gym.

Fortunately there is a solution for this. The portable sauna. Imagine being able to visit the sauna whenever you like, within the comfort of your own home.

A portable sauna consists of a soft, water-proof material, that is constructed a little like a small tent. When ready, you simply unzip, step inside, and zip back up. The whole body is covered by the portable sauna, but the head sticks out of the top, to avoid suffocation and other safety hazards. There are also a couple of openings for the hands, should you want to drink some coffee or send a text message during the steaming.

There are a few different shapes of portable sauna. Some are tube like, in which you need to lie down inside them on the floor. However, the majority of them are about the size and width of a sofa chair, where you simply sit inside.

The heat is generated by a small appliance, usually about the size of a bucket. When the portable sauna is put together, it simply plugs into an electrical outlet. When the portable sauna is folded up it is small enough to be carried around, or fit into the trunk of the car.

That means you could use the portable sauna wherever you go. All you need is a room with a few feet of space, and an electrical socket.
